Initial Review, 100 Miles on Tires
January 07, 2014
While this is certainly a very early review, these tires have transformed my ML320. I have had Toyo Proxes tires on for about 63000 miles any while they were always comfortable and decent in dry conditions, they were poor in wet weather and simply lousy in snow. They do have an all season rating, but looking at the tread design should have pushed me to buy something else at the time. Well, I saved about $25 each tire at the time vs the Continental 4x4 tires that served my family well for 55000 miles. Unlike so many others, my experience with the Continentals was outstanding. I figured that I would wait until the Toyos to wear out and then change them. They won't wear out. My patience finally did.
I bought the Bridgestone Alenzas from the tire rack and had them mounted and road force balanced by a reputable family owned tire business here in Massachusetts. I also had them do a 4 wheel alignment. All I can say at this point is that I am amazed. The ride is supple and yet still firm, but never harsh. The ML tracks straight and true and the handling is supurb. I haven't heard a sound from the ABS system and they don't make a sound in tight, fast corners. Literally, it is like driving a new car. My family has owned this car since new and it has never driven quite like this. I'm estatic. I have about 127,800 miles on the ML320.
I'll report back after the winter when I have experienced more miles, road, and weather conditions.
